Real Estate Trends in Northwest Michigan

Ahh...spring has sprung here in Northwest Michigan and Memorial Day is just around the corner. For us "locals" that means an influx of tourists. But..that's a good thing! Tourism is an economic hub in our county. Although the gas prices continue to rise, we still are witnessing the increase of traffic in our small town.

I think it's also time to debunk some of the myths that seem to be circulating the area. Real estate....while it's down in Southeast Michigan (the Detroit area), the market remains stable in Northwest Michigan. Our median home price is not much lower than it was last year. In a nutshell, we are very fortunate that we are still a desirable destination for relocations and vacations! If you're waiting for prices to go down even more, you'll miss the boat. Now is the best time to purchase! There is a lot on the market and owners are becoming competitive with their prices and incentives. If you're looking for a longterm investment, real estate is still the way to go. Check out some of my great listings at www.KathyNeveu.com.

For now it's time to sign out....my son's high school graduation is next weekend. Lots of company and still so much to do!!
